What is it now?

Wellness, the art, and science (the maths or the chemistry) of living life wisely. That is my really smart definition. I love to learn new things...i also love to share. That's what we shall do as we go along. Health, life, well, everything.
I love food, and being a dietitian, i would like to start from here: eating well.

Healthy eating habits.
Healthy eating is simple. If you commit to these simple tips, you will be well on your way to eating well.
·         Eat foods from the four main food groups: starches and breads, meats and legumes, fruits and vegetables and milk and dairy products.

·         Eat regularly. Missing meals is detrimental to your brain, and body at large.
·         Breakfast is vital. Eat some proteins foods such as ground nuts, simsim, eggs, fish, milk as well as carbohydrates such as bread, cake, maize, potatoes, cassava, popcorn to kick-start your brain in the morning.
·         Vary cooking methods to maximize on nutrient value: boil, steam, fry, juice, raw (fruits and veggies)
·         Include fresh fruits and vegetables in your meals daily to enhance digestive health, and improve metabolism.
·         Limit salt, sugar and fat. Use natural herbs and spices such as garlic, onions, ginger, mint, parsley, cinnamon, lemon grass to naturally enhance flavor in food.
·         Drink lots of water, if you are feeling thirsty, you have waited too long. Drink water now. The color of your urine is the best indicator. The darker it is, the more water you need to drink.
·         Eat slowly. Eating in a rush will cause you to over eat, and, or to swallow air. Neither is a desirable outcome.  Stop eating when you feel satisfied, even if there is still food on the plate.

Simple, right? Yes, i thought so too!
